Artist Statement:
Making art is not only a means of self expression, but a form of continual growth and renewal . When painting I can lose all thought of time and everything around me except the work I am doing. Painting is a spiritual exercise for me and a necessary part of my life.
I enjoy painting a variety of subjects from land and seascape, to the human figure and portraits, as well as wildlife and still life. Each offers it’s own unique opportunities and challenges to study light and value contrast. Whatever I paint, I try to simplify the composition to what it is about the subject that has attracted me and to convey that in a manner that will draw the viewer in to complete the story.
100% of my sales go to charity including foundations for mental health, abused and abandoned children, and the BGAC scholarship fund.
Commissions accepted for portraits and landscape.
