Youth Classes

Giving Back to Our Community

At the Boca Grande Art Center, we believe in nurturing creativity at every age and supporting the next generation of artists in our Boca Grande community. Each summer, in collaboration with the Lee County Parks & Recreation Department and with generous support from the Boca Grande Woman’s Club, we help bring art education to life through 7–8 weeks of summer art camp. For the past three seasons, artist and instructor Deborah Dawn Cooper has led the program, guiding 40–60 campers through a variety of creative projects—from acrylic painting and sculpture to mixed media and jewelry making—encouraging self-expression and artistic exploration.

Our Art & Education Committee also hosts a complimentary Watercolor for Kids class each April, led by returning exhibiting artist Gail Cleveland. This popular workshop introduces children ages 5 and older to the fun of watercolor painting and often becomes a shared creative experience for parents and grandparents alike.
