OUR HISTORY
The Boca Grande Art Center "BGAC" was founded in 1986 orginally called Boca Grande Art Alliance by a small group of talented artists living in Boca Grande, Florida, who were in search of a venue to show their art works to residents and visitors. The Fust Library in town hosted several early exhibitions. We have become much more than an alliance of local artists and have become the center for visual arts here on the island. Today we have grown as a 501-c3 non-profit operation with a very supportive and active membership.
Over the years, our program has added art exhibits, workshops, classes, educational lectures, special events and scholarships. These all celebrate the local culture and promote the visual arts for the public and contribute to the cultural life of our community.

Artist Members
The images above are a small sampling of our Exhibiting Artist Members' work. Artists from our Boca Grande community have joined the Art Center to contribute to the support of our mission. Membership as an exhibitor is limited to 45 artists and interested artists who meet BGAC requirements may submit an application for consideration to be juried into exhibiting status. Our artists are encouraged to get involved in the many activities of BGAC, such as enrolling in or teaching workshops, volunteering to help with shows and other events, or working on committees. Exhibiting members form a supportive community of artists who provide friendship and encouragement to one another in their artistic growth.
