Sailor’s Valentine, Canceled

Karen Irvine has been teaching Sailors Valentine classes in Boca Grande since 2010. Men and women have both enjoyed using their creative imagination to design a contemporary or traditional Sailors Valentine. No two are ever alike which makes each piece an original work of art. Everyone has an artistic flair within them, join the class and allow that inner talent to materialize.

Sailors Valentine is an octagonal shadow box containing a template with a kaleidoscope design in it. The design calls for a variety of colorful, small shells, twigs, sand, chips of shells and other materials found on the beaches. In the center of the Valentine is usually a large flower (made of shells), a drawing, broach or large shell.
This year I have purchased new Sailors Valentine boxes which are included in a kit. Also included are shells, glue and everything else needed for the class. I will also have other unique shells to purchase. Of course, bring small shells you have collected along with a centerpiece. Let me emphasize once again you might have a hidden talent in art that can be brought out.
